SPAM means unwanted influx/ inflow of junk messages.

OK !! Hold on don't get furious at me... I will explain. Lets see if these backronyms can explain them better - "Shit Posing As Mail." & "Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages."

SPAM is a general term and what we are concerned here is the e-mail SPAM.
Lets discuss some Origins of SPAM...

• Usually your email is given to many websites, forums, blogs, social networking sites etc while registering. These site owners themselves are the Spammers many times or atleast SELL the email ids to Spammers for a good profit.
• There are spywares and viruses which scan your Outlook address book, other web pages you visit & Web browser history for email addresses, and send them to some script on a server where all the email addresses are collected. Later that database is used for Spamming.
• Many newsgroups, message boards, blog comments etc publicly expose your email id's to everyone on the internet, SPAM Bots scan such web pages regularly and collect email id's.

Now What do they do with all these email addresses. They use mail mailing systems and send advertisement messages to all the email ids. Of course there are also NON-COMMERCIAL SPAM which is usually about religious preachings etc.

A GREAT NEW SPAM SOLUTION

OK Enough said.... what is the latest way to avoid it.
Simple speaking, dont use ur email id for registering in websites. (related with pornography :P)

Well thats not possible, they send the confirmation link to my mailbox to activate my account !!

I know, I know, let me complete... Thats why we have sites like BUGMENOT and MAILINATOR. Use the disposable email boxes they provide.


All you have to do is use the email address <anything>@bugmenot.com while registering, then go to http://email.bugmenot.com and enter the email address you used to access the temporary mail box. Absolutely No password required !!!! Cool huh ?
